I’ve been editing for about 2 weeks straight on the 2 weddings and 1 family session I had recently. It’s great to finally be done with all of them! The last batch of photos went out to Cayla and Landon today. I hope everyone loves their shots as much as I do!
Wow, what a cute little girl! She was adorable and fun to take pictures of. We had an outdoor shoot scheduled at Eden Park in Mt. Adams but the crazy weather forced us under the gazebo. Sophia made the best of it as she played with her giraffe and mostly just looked perfect for the camera! Melissa and James: you are lucky parents! Can’t wait to show you the rest in a couple days...

It’s a pretty cool experience when you get confirmation that the hard work you put in to serving your clients does not go unnoticed. I received a Facebook message the other day that gave me some warm fuzzies inside:) I thought I’d toot our own horn just a tad:
Facebook message:
I also got a call from the hospital photography place. They said that since I got pictures in the hospital I also paid for them to come to my home for free and then give me a free 8×10 of Jerynn. But they also said we could do some with both girls. Having already had you come to do the pictures for the girls and for us that is what I was comparing her to. Let me just say her services cannot compare to yours. She was not the friendliest person and Jaya cried almost the whole time. She showed me a few of the pictures she took and they were good but then she said that she would be back next week to show them to me. I asked if I could look at them online and she said she had to come and show them to me in my home on a laptop…annoying. I know I told you I appreciated your work and your services but I wanted to tell you again that your approach to photography is awesome! Thanks again for all you did for our family and I look forward to doing some more when Jerynn is a little bigger!
Thanks Myndee! That made my day, week and month:)
*As always you can find our work, including Jerynn’s photo shoot, on www.Fyrefly.com
After 36+ hours of uploading we are in the home stretch:) Here’s a few to hold you over. Next phone call is to Time Warner to upgrade to the super, duper, insanely fast internet…
Since 500+ pictures takes so crazy long to upload I am going to put up a second sneak peek for Cayla and Landon. Thanks for your patience guys! They will be ready in a few days.
Can’t wait for your to see the rest…if you could only make the internet faster:)
This week we are working vigorously on editing the shots from the Carmen/Michael and Cayla/Landon weddings. We started with 5000+ shots from the two weddings and will end up with around 1000 from each to show them. I can’t wait to show them how beautiful their weddings turned out in pictures.
Also, this week’s playlist is more upbeat and pop-y. Enjoy:
Last but not least I want to bring some attention to a new site that I just joined. Its called BridalTweet. Its a pretty cool site where brides can go to find ideas, deals on wedding goodies and also find different vendors for their weddings. The cool thing about it is that vendors offers some kind of deal for booking through BridalTweet. Vendors get more exposure, brides get free or discounted stuff and everyone WINS!!!! I love sites like that. Check out our profile here. Or just check out the overall site here. As a wedding photographer this is exactly the kind of partnerships we want to build.
As always, have a fantastic day and week! I hope you are chasing your dreams instead of letting the mundane chase you!
From time to time I plan on putting up a playlist of what I’m listening too. Sometimes I get in a mood…today it’s mellow.
Blower’s Daughter – Damien Rice
Colors – Amos Lee
Paranoia in B Major – Avett Bros.
Blue Mind – Alexi Murdoch
One of These Things First – Nick Drake
Latter Days – Over the Rhine
Ghost – Damion Suomi
Lion’s Mane – Iron and Wine
The One I Love – David Gray
Mushaboom – Feist
Leave – Once Soundtrack
I found this over at Bridezilla.com. I am pretty sure my mouth was open most of the time while watching it. It’s amazing…and it’s from Cincinnati…awesome!
I wanted to introduce everyone to my family. They are such a massive part of this journey that I’m on, I figured you should know them too. My wife Edie is amazing and lovely…right now she is working full time to support our family while we try to get this thing off the ground. There is no end to how much she means to me. Ryan is our 2 year old. He keeps us laughing. He is currently learning to climb on every piece of furniture in the house which makes for some crazy stories. Lily is our newest addition at 2 months old. She is beautiful in every way. She is beginning to make some noises and smile but mostly she just sleeps, eats and fills her diaper. I can’t wait to see who she becomes.
Here is a picture I got one evening while we were trying to Ryan to be cute with his sister. It looks so sweet, but the truth is that I took about 100 pictures that day and this is about the only one where he is standing anywhere close:)
These two and Edie are my inspiration and drive! Thanks for all you do for me guys.
The wedding day started out with a plan for an outdoor wedding. The rain thought otherwise:( After getting all the portraits beforehand the sky opened up and forced Michael and Carmen’s wedding indoors at Lakeside Lodge in Sharon Woods. Everything was beautiful inside and the couple rolled with the punches for a great wedding! I have never seen two people so calm and collected when they were under so much stress. Congratulations on your fantastic wedding and I wish you the best of luck in the years to come…now here’s your sneak peek:
Thank you for letting me be a part of the beginning of your new life. You guys are a special couple and I know you are going to take the ATL by storm:) I will have your pictures up in the next 10 days.
