St. Columban Catholic Church and Bel-Wood Country Club | Loveland & Morrow, Ohio Saturday was such an amazing day for a wedding! Amy and Jay couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful couple to work with. Their smiles, their laid-back demeanor and their love for each other were inspiring for sure. I loved meeting their families and friends and just getting to absorb in for a few hours. I often think about how lucky I am…how many people get to show up on one of the most important days in a families’ life and get to be treated like I belong there?
What an amazing church, amazing venue and amazing people to hang out with! Here are some of my favorite shots from Jay and Amy’s gorgeous wedding:

Johnson Family Home | New Orleans, LA This past week I got the chance to hang out at Pictage PartnerCon in New Orleans, LA. It was a great conference! One of the best parts was being able to photograph a friend’s family who lives down there. They moved down right after the hurricane to do relief and eventually to be part of a new church there.
Needless to say, this family is an inspiration to us all as they gave up their homes to move to a place that desperately needed help! I was so proud to be a part of their family for a few hours. These are a couple of my favorites from the session:
Rarely do you ever see a propsoal that is super creative. This one is. This guy is both the biggest nerd on the planet and also the coolest cat alive…hard to do:)
Shaw Farms and Old Milford | Milford, OH This past Saturday was perfect fall weather for engagement pictures. What a great couple to hang out with…I have known Brittany for 6 years or so and I met Tim for the first time this past spring. It’s really exciting to get to see their love for each other!
We headed out to Shaw Farms in Milford, Ohio and took some pictures with fall as our backdrop. They even let us take an (almost) empty horse ride to the back of the farm where we got some amazing shots! We got a little muddy and cold, but it was totally worth it:)
Brittany and Tim: Thanks for letting me come along on your fall date:) You guys were so fun and adventurous. I will have your pictures to you in the next week or so.
Clifton | Cincinnati, OH Sometimes as a photographer I get the opportunity to spend time with people who I would normally (probably) never come in contact with on a regular day. It’s one of the perks of the job. A couple weeks ago I had the chance to spend a few minutes taking portraits of 8 students and an adult for Cincinnati Youth Collaborative. You can read more about what CYC does on their website but, in a nutshell, they are a non-profit organization in the city working to help students through mentoring and college readiness programs. They do it by connecting volunteers (like you!) to students and teaching the adults how to help the students succeed. An amazing mission for sure!
The students you see here were nominated for an annual award based on their academic and social achievements through their schools and the CYC program. Each of these students has a story. I only got to spend a few minutes with each but they were fun to be around and I am glad I had the opportunity to meet each one of them. We could all learn a ton from these young adults as they demonstrate what it means to overcome challenges and push forward no matter the circumstances. I am in awe of them.
I am also in awe of CYC’s staff. They are beautiful people with a huge heart to see kids succeed in life, even when they might not have been given a decent chance to. When I grow up, I want to be like these students and those staff members:)
If you are looking for a worthwhile place to donate your time or money shoot CYC an email. You won’t regret it. If you don’t have the time or money, shoot them an email anyways and tell them how much you appreciate the work their are doing to help our city.
Thanks CYCers and thanks to all those volunteers working hard to make a difference in the lives of students like these!

Eden Park and Downtown | Cincinnati, OH This past Sunday night I had a great engagement picture session with Greg and Fahema. We took some pictures around Eden Park and then took off for Fountain Square. We didn’t realize that they showed the Cincinnati Bengals game on the giant TV down there so we were surrounded by 500+ screaming fans while we were taking pictures. It was pretty funny. In some of the shots there were kids who “accidentally” ended up in the shot. They kept casually walking back and forth and sitting down right next to F & G, so we just went with it. (on a side note, if you are looking for a fun place to watch games you should go down there…great atmosphere!)
Greg and Fahema were so natural at being natural. That seems funny to say but sometimes it takes couples some time to grasp the natural photograph look…not these two. They were great!
Here are some of my favorites from the engagement portrait session at Eden Park and Fountain Square:
Thanks again for a great evening guys. You were so laid back and comfortable with each other…as you can see it made for some amazing shots! I can’t wait to photograph your Mehendi and wedding at the Cincinnati Club!!!!!!!!!
Berry Hill Mansion | Frankfort, Ky. As a wedding photographer I am always becoming “part of the family” for a day so I can get great pictures. This weekend was a little different…
25 years ago I met my brother for the first time. On Saturday night I got to be a part of his wedding. It’s amazing how something like a sibling getting married can bring back all kinds of memories. It seems like not too long ago that we were riding down the stairs in laundry baskets or hiding easter eggs all over the house in the middle of the winter because we were bored. It was so fun to be a part of his growing up and now he’s more grown up that I would have ever imagined! He picked a great girl in Shelby and I can’t wait to see them grow old together.
Now for their fabulous wedding. They got married at Berry Hill Mansion in Frankfort, Ky. As you can see the bride and the venue were beautiful and the decorations only enhanced their beauty. I love the homemade arbor decorated with ivy, flowers and small candles. It was the perfect centerpiece to a beautiful outdoor wedding. I also loved all the little touches like the decorative moss in the mason jar centerpieces and the late summer flowers scattered everywhere you looked. The mansion provided so many little nooks and crannies to take pictures, I only wished we had a couple more hours:)
Here are my favorites from my first time through:
If you are noticing that there are no pictures of the ceremony, well you’re right. I was in it so someone else had to take them. But trust me, it was beautiful:)
Congratulations you guys! I am proud to call you brother and sister. I should have the rest of your pictures back to you in a couple weeks.
Waveland Museum | Lexington, Kentucky It was a great morning for a family photography session in Lexington, Kentucky. Robin, Rob and the kids were relaxed and ready for a fun day to be a family. The kids were so funny as they really got into posing for the camera. They came up with some funny poses all on their own:)
What a great family! Here are some of my favorites from the family portrait session:
Thanks for a fun morning guys! Can’t wait to hang out with you again sometime!

Keeneland Race Track | Lexington, Kentucky It’s always fun to do a senior portrait session! It’s a right of passage for most students. You pull out 2 or 3 outfits that you like and go spend an hour or so getting pictures taken that mom will cherish forever and ever. This past weekend I got to take senior pictures with my cousin Andrew. I can’t believe he is already a senior in high school…it definitely makes me not want to think about how old I am:) He was funny because he totally knew he was there for his mom. One of the first things he said was “I’ll probably smile in most of these because that’s what she’ll want”. Sure enough, when I showed her a couple shots she immediately said “oohh, I like that one”…he was smiling.
Here are some of my favorites from his senior photography session:
Thanks for letting me be a part of the end of your high school career Andrew! Good luck with landing on a school and good luck with getting that full ride!!!!

Devou Park | Covington, Kentucky As a family photographer I am so blessed to meet great families that I would have never had the chance to meet otherwise, as is the case with Matt, Anna and Miles. A few days ago we met at the overlook behind Drees Pavilion in Devou Park and had a family portrait session. The weather was amazing…around 70 for most of the morning and some well placed clouds in the sky.
I knew we were going to have fun when Miles jumped out of the car and grabbed my hand to lead me around the park. He is such a cute kid who is very fun to be around. Matt and Anna were so great to get to know as well. Matt is a journalism professor at NKU (please don’t be too harsh about my writing Matt) and Anna is a stay at home mom. Both of them were so genuine and easy to talk to. It was very cool to talk to them about their upcoming adoption and be a part of the process in taking their family picture to include with their paperwork. All in all it was a really engaging and fun day.
Some of my favorites from the family picture session:
This is before he changed into his “picture shirt”. So funny!
The wagon is always a hit! He loved riding in it and pulling it.
Matt and Anna: you guys are great parents with an amazing son who’s funny and super fun to be around! Thanks for sharing a little of your lives with me. Good luck with the adoption and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the pictures from your family photography session.
